True Crime Author Zach Fortier

If you are looking for a editor for your next book, short story or manuscript take a look at Wendy Reis. I have had my books edited by two other editors and I was never happy with the process. They edited the book and sent it back, once through, pay me now and hope you are satisfied. I was not. I wanted to know why the changes were made, what are the rules that govern this change in the English language? I was told that kind of edit required an additional and very expensive fee. Wendy was different; her process of editing REQUIRES several passes through the book by both author and editor, each providing feedback to the other as they sharpen the document. I have seen the benefit of another pair of educated and literate eyes going over a manuscript and correcting obvious spelling and grammatical errors, pointing out inconsistencies and awkward wording. Correcting these do not change your vision just perfect it. But you do need to retain the right to decline any suggestions. That is how my editor (Wendy Reis) and I worked together. It has made my book better without losing anything I wanted. When we edit our own work we tend to see what we think we wrote, not what is really there.
